Riddle #3
by Jonathan Kraft

I am among the most valuable things
In the whole wide world
More than any religion, idea,
or any flag unfurled.

I am something that can be done
by any woman or man
I can happen any time, anywhere
with or without a plan.

What am I?

Hey Adria! This is a great guess. I wouldn’t describe love as something that can be “done”, but it’s a very good guess. Correct answer is on CarrieAndJonathan.com today…

      1. James

You can’t “do” a smile anymore than you can “do” love. You can love. You can smile. You can’t “do” either.

You’re saying that you tell loved ones “I feel love for you” rather than “I love you”?

You could say “I feel love for you.” I probably wouldn’t say that. But I would say “I smile at you”. Or “I am smiling in your direction.” I wouldn’t say “I love at you”, and people do use the expression “I am loving on you”, and that is one way that love is turned into an action. In any case, love, by itself, isn’t something that I would describe as being “done”.
