Remember Today

Today was a day
that I must remember.

The people who helped me,
the situations that were difficult
the issues that were resolved.

It could have gone poorly
but it didn’t.
I used emotional and negotiation skills
I reasoned through a difficult situation
And the person involved worked to fix it.

We worked to fix it.
And it worked.

Carrie and I made it work.
Together.

Our communication made it simpler.
and my belief that people want to do what’s right
that people can work to find solutions
that people can be more, and better,
has been restored.

And that’s really something to celebrate,
so I must remember today.
