“I Am”
by Jonathan Kraft
This was a poem I wrote in September 2003 as a tribute to my cousin Megan. She had written a poem called I Am. Megan left this life very suddenly and unexpectedly.
“I Am”
These are not my words.
Rather, they are the words of my cousin.
They are the words of my friend,
A brilliant woman who left
the physical world at a time
and in a way which can only make sense
in God’s logic.
I don’t know what her spirit
is doing now, but I do know
that some of her spirit watches and shares
some of my experience.
I find a little comfort in that knowledge.
What she shares is that
Life is much more than the daily.
Live it as such.
