New Zealand Crayfish

Crayfishing is big business in New Zealand. With crayfish fetching as much as USD$35 per pound, it’s easy to see why.

On our second day of floundering around (catching flounder direct from the ocean), Carrie and I got to visit some crayfish pools at Whangaroa Harbor. These pools are where they keep the crayfish before they’re sold. We don’t know how many there were, but it was easily around three hundred crayfish.
