(My garden is your garden)
Today, Jonathan and I walked into town. Our first stop was at Mi Jardin es Su Jardin. We learned from our taxi driver, Danny, that Mi Jardin es Su Jardin, is actually a man’s own personal garden. He is 99 years old, and still goes for a daily drive around Boquete in his Lexus.
But, he loves gardens so much, that he had one created.
This isn’t just any garden. It’s beautiful, and it’s really big.
I don’t know exactly how big it is. (Jonathan says that it’s definitely more than 5 acres of gardens.)
It is one of those places that just keeps going and going and going. You turn a corner, expecting to be near the end, and you’re faced with yet more flowers and a giant flamingo (statue).
At one point we climbed a tower, and looked over the gardens, but even from there we couldn’t quite see everything.
The gardens are really lovely. Every pond has at least 100 koi in it, ranging from nearly microscopic to some of the largest goldfish I’ve ever seen.
There are several water features scattered throughout the gardens. I also like the cutouts of women. There’s one in a bikini, one playing golf, one tiptoeing through the tulips, etc.
Definitely walk through Mi Jardin es Su Jardin the next time you’re in Boquete, Panama. And, remember, admission is free. Hopefully someday we’ll all be so passionate about something that we want everyone to experience it, and hopefully each of us will figure out a way to offer it to the world for free.
We had a lovely afternoon at Mi Jardin Es Su Jardin. It was one of the few afternoons without rain, and we had the garden mostly to ourselves.
