For those of you in or from the United States, I hope you enjoy a wonderful day with family and/or friends.
This year, I took a little time to reflect on the holiday and wrote a poem that I wanted to share.
Happy Independence Day!
How will you celebrate the 4th?
We’re headed to Cheyenne, Wyoming to spend time with Lynn and Kevin and Krista (who are visiting Cheyenne from Montana). We’re very excited to see them.
P.S. This is the first time I’ve posted something in my handwriting from my tablet. It’s also the first time I’ve shared a poem with the world at large the same day I wrote it.
What do you think?

Hi Elsie! Hope your mom got to celebrate her 81st birthday on the 4th?
Makes me tear up thinking of the price so many paid for our freedom. thanks for the poem J.
Thank-you for your nice comments Karen! Happy Independence day to you – even though it’s 3 years after I wrote this poem.
Wow…you did good. I liked the drawing of the flag too!
Thank-you Pama! How did you celebrate Independence Day 2012?
It’s great to see you writing again!! I’ve always loved your poetry and insight!
Thank-you! I never stopped writing… guess I just stopped sharing it as openly or as much… hard to be noticed, or have the words feel important, in a big, noisy world – but still will share and learn how to make it most beneficial for others and still rewarding for me.
Happy Independence Day 2012!
Really great, and I hope you will continue to occasionally share your poetry.
Freedom is a powerful thing…
Freedom is the root of all other things. With freedom comes everything (including lazyness or the ability to build skyscrapers). What did you do for independence day 2012?
