One of the best parts for me of travel is hearing the music of different countries.
One night this past week, Keith and Carol were watching “The X Factor Australia”.
The X Factor is a show like American Idol.
I don’t watch much TV, but after seeing part of an episode of The X Factor, I understand that it does hold more value than just pure entertainment.
The X Factor Australia was fascinating, and it was fun to see these people shooting for their dreams.
One of the show’s participants sang a song I had never heard of before.
That will probably be like blasphemy to some Australians once they hear that the song is “You Are The Voice”. Carol told me that it’s become almost like a second national anthem for Australia.
It’s also become one of my favorite songs.
After hearing it just once on The X Factor, I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I asked Carol the title of the song and who sings it.
It’s called “You Are The Voice”, and it’s by Johnny Farnham.
The lyrics and the message are simple (posted below).
Implementing the message in the world also isn’t that complex, at least on the surface…
It just requires more of us to be the voice; to “be the change we wish to see in the world”.
Carrie and I feel like we are doing that during our travels around the world (abroad and back home), in what we do with both our business life and what we do in our personal lives.
However, we can always be better at sharing our voice, and we’re working on that.
After listening to the song below, I would be curious to hear from you… post your comments below if you are willing to share:
- How are you being “The Voice” in your own life?
- How are you being the change you wish to see in the world?
- Or if you’re not comfortable sharing those things about yourself, perhaps simply share one thing you would like to see more of in the world?
I believe the purpose of life is to create an amazing adventure — it’s all part of the journey and how you get there! I like the song too — definitely should find or create an arrangement for school children to sing!
I think one of the ways that you have been the voice is in the way you’ve cared for and built a strong family.
