Profitable Soda: “I Am A Money Magnet”

Last night, Carrie offered to make us (her sister Michelle and I) rum and coke.
This was to finish up the last of our rum (before we move out of our apartment.)
But we left last night’s soda (from the party) at my parent’s house.
So, Carrie went down to the soda machine to get a coke.

1 can of coke = 0.65.
On her way, there was a penny, so she picked it up.
When she walked down the hall toward the vending machine, there was another penny, so she picked it up too.
Then she bought the coke with a dollar bill.
When she reached down to pick up her change, there was another penny on the floor, so she picked it up too.
So she thought, “I’m just going to walk this little circle in the building here.”
On the other side of the circle in the building, there were two more pennies.
So she picked them up.
And then she thought, “What the heck, ‘ll go to the garage and use the stairs from the garage this time.”
And in the level of stairs from the garage to the first floor, there was a dollar bill. So she picked it up.
So she left the apartment with a $1 bill.
She returned with a can of soda, and $1.40.
If soda was always this profitable, we might actually drink it!
