Potential (Tools to Aid the Soul)

I look at people,
and see in them so much potential.
Potential to do whatever they want
Potential to make good things happen for all
They have this potential,
and I see it when
I look at people

How I know that this is there,
I cannot explain.
A look of the eye or movement of the mouth,
or the way they listen and speak.
The potential is in these,
but these are merely tools.
Tools to aid the soul;
that’s where the potential is,
The potential lies in the soul.
In the soul is where people have to look to find potential,
but I cannot explain how I know that this is there.

Perhaps it’s a gift,
or a talent.
But I think that in knowing my soul,
my potential inside my soul,
I am able to see that
if I have this potential,
there must be many greater than I.
But they will only know this greatness
if they look inside to find something greater,
the soul.
This is what I see,
this greatness inside the soul.
I see it in all,
but those who I feel this greatness in,
are those who don’t put up a block to impress,
those who know love,
and those who have faith.
I don’t think so, but being able to see this,
perhaps it’s just a gift.

This potential will only be found inside the greatness of the soul.
Inside the soul
where race, color, creed doesn’t matter,
where people find God in love
(sometimes the other way around).
Where all have the same potential to succeed,
inside the soul.
Just look,
everything you need
is inside you.
