Poem: A Resonant Passion

A Resonant Passion
by Jonathan Kraft

Written 11. May, 2008

Where do I resonate
where the pitch is always on
where the mind connects to it all
in such a way that it’s conclusively
what I’m sent to do?

I’m good at singing harmony
But when I don’t know my own melody
the resonance often sounds dissonant.
I believe dissonance necessary and beautiful
but when you’re the composer,
it’s helpful to decide
when,
how,
and if
that dissonance will resolve into something

beautiful,
constructive,
flowing…

What is my passion?

Why do I still not have the answer
to that question?
