Carrie and I have heard others say (particularly about religious texts) that “Nothing is lost in translation.”

In many religious traditions (Christians, Hindus, Muslims), they will say it’s “God’s word”, so how could something be absent from it?

It may be God’s word, but by the time it goes through a few iterations of language, it may come out differently.

Just sayin’.
