Perhaps Instead

Name me a noise
greater than lightning
Show me a flash
more exciting than lightning
Give me a sound
more soothing than water
Improve the breeze
on which I go kiting.

Build me a home
bigger than the earth
Walk me on a bridge
bigger than the sea.
Rather than working
to do all of that…
perhaps instead,
I’ll just work on me.
