The Man in the Moon

The Man in the Moon
a figment of the mind
looks down on us
and sees us in our lives

He sees the way we fear,
He sees the way we harm,
He sees the way we hate

He sees the way we take pride
He sees the way we care
He sees the way we love

and when he sees us loving he
looks at us knowing that it’s all so simple

-But he cannot tell us
because all he is is-

A figment of the mind
