It rains every day in Quito?
I love that my dad added Quito weather to his Pocket PC (Phone).
He did that so that he can check out what the weather is like for us every day.
I think it’s really cool that he’s checking in on how things are going for us in a fun sort of way right there on his phone.
I found out he had done this when he asked me, “Are you getting used to the rain every day in Quito?”
It rains every day in Quito?
That’s news to me. But that’s what his pocket PC weather says.
Apparently, it does rain every day somewhere in or around Quito.
Part of the reason we haven’t experienced much rain is because since we’re at nearly 10,000 feet above sea level, the whole valley of Quito is a series of rapidly changing micro-climates.
As a result, it’s hard to say that “the weather in Quito is…” because it will probably change soon, and because all of Quito is rarely experiencing the same weather.
Today is our first day of almost a full day of rain, but it broke and got sunny long enough for us to get back to our apartment after lunch.
We saw these really cool bulbous flowers growing on a bush (probably as a result of the rain followed by the sun), so I took a couple of pictures.
We like the weather in Quito though.
Every day it is between 60-80 degrees, and at night, it rarely drops below 50.
For me, it could be a bit warmer, but for Carrie it’s perfect.

Hi there – An updated weather forecast.
For the first time in several weeks it looks like it won’t be raining there today or tomorrow (Wednesday / Miércoles). However, the rest of the week and weekend look wet.
Snow here tonight and tomorrow (probably 10+” at the house) then 55-60 on Friday (just another normal March in Denver.)
It’s funny that it says it’s not raining today… because last night we got DUMPED on… loud enough rain to wake us up out of our sleep. But today, yes, it’s beautifully sunny.
10″ of snow… followed by 60 degrees… definitely sounds like typical March in Colorado!

First time I’ve noticed our nose diamond. Is that new? When you
have those, do you also have the same kind of back as on the stud earrings?
GEE, wouldn’t that drive one crazy with all that on your nose?
Wouldn’t it hurt if you had a cold & had to blow your nose a lot?
How in the world can you get in on & off. It looks like the backing
would be too far up inside your nose? Your “older” not so with-it friend.

Nope, it’s not new. I’ve had it since Sept 10, 2001. No, the back is very different – there isn’t one. It’s just a post with a very very small, flat disc on the inside. It doesn’t drive me crazy. I don’t even feel it. It doesn’t hurt to blow my nose. There’s nothing “poky” about it. It’s completely flat on the inside. There’s no “backing” like you’re picturing (like with earrings). It is a bit complicated to remove, but I don’t remove it very often. In fact, I haven’t in years. (It’s pure silver.) Let me know if you have any other questions.

The “cool bulbous flowers” are Lantana. They are perennial flowers that are planted in the springtime here in the Southeast here in the states…Also, if you leave them alone they will rebloom year after year. I love thier fragrant aroma and butterflies love them…
