Yay! And, I managed to save more than 60% by ordering online! It's a gorgeous gorgeous dress. I'm so happy that I finally found one. Click here to see a picture of it:
Most of you know that I play the flute, and have for years. Some of you know that I love the original Ninendo Super Mario Brothers game. What would happen if you put the two together?
I've just been having so much fun designing my ring, that I think it would be super fun to be a jewelry designer all the time. Can you imagine a job where you get to play with precious gems and metals all day long?
Last week, Jonathan took me to Biondi to begin the process of designing my ring. It was such an awesome experience. Michelle (the co-owner, with her husband) had me sit down and try on almost every ring in the store. She wanted me to be sure that I knew what I liked. While I was doing that, it was like she was reading my mind. I even think she was a couple of times. She even had me try on rings that I liked outside so that I could see what they looked like in natural light.
I found two that I think I really like. They're quite different from each other, but both are very unique, and will be even more so when we design the final ring together. Michelle is ordering in some loose stones so that we can choose which one(s) to be put into the final ring.
Our next appointment is this Friday, and I can't wait! If anyone is looking for any type of jewlery, go to Biondi (in Aurora at Parker and Quincy). I've never had a better experience!
Last week, Jonathan and I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and played virtual laser tag. We got to run through the store with a scan gun and beam things to our wish list. It was great fun! (Even though Jonathan got to do most of the scanning.)
Yesterday we received our first wedding gift! Thanks Steve! Can't wait to see you here in July.
Today is my last class of grad school! Yippee! By 9:00 tonight, I'll be done with classes. I'm not done with my degree, as I still have a few papers to write over the summer, but no more classes. I was beginning to think this day would never come.
I thought that since I'd posted how many states I've visited, I should post my countries visited too. Again, in order for me to have visited the country, I had to spend at least one night there (otherwise I could count our layover in Ethiopia). Hopefully I'll be able to add more countries to this soon. (I know it looks like I've been to Alaska, too bad I haven't YET.) How many countries have you visited?
I've been to 8 countries (man, I need to travel more!). How many have you been to? Click here to generate your own map, and please post it in the comments when you do!
This could have totally been staged. But if it's not, it's VERY fasciating and scary.
This video is from an amazing experiment carried out by the brilliant Derren Brown.
Using extremely subtle subliminal suggestion he is able to guide the creative ideas of two top advertising designers as they create a new campaign.
Now they think that they are creating this advertising campaign from their own, completely brilliant, imaginations.
You will be shocked by the conclusion. Watch the whole video to see how it was set up.
It raises serious questions about how easily we are influenced in every area of our lives, and even makes one question the true nature of creativity and where ideas really come from.
If you are even slightly interested in the power of subliminal suggestion over the human mind, you will be fascinated by this short video.
Jonathan was so nice this week. He brought me flowers for no reason. They're beautiful daisies, and they really brighten up the room. I thought maybe I'd like to be a flower arranger. That's a good job for me. This is how I would probably arrange the flowers:
Kevin Cherilla, our leader when we climbed Kilimanjaro, is on Everest now. He put together a blog so that we could read about his experiences while trying to summit the tallest mountain in the world. It really is a fun (and funny) read. If you'd like to check it out, here's the link: www.kcsummits.com/Everest_2007_Blog.html
Definitely go check it out if you've ever had even a little curiosity about what it's like to climb the highest mountain.
