Knowing I’m An Angel (To You)

You just told me
that I am an angel.
I have such difficulty
believing that right now.

I feel I’ve failed
left our lives in limbo
not cared for what I should have…
Even though I know
none of that is true.

My heart feels sadness.
And yet I am hopeful
And I will work to be at peace,
knowing that I am safe…
Knowing I am a child of God…
An offspring of infinite possibility…
A physical representation of love…
Knowing I’m an angel to you.
