Wow…
I didn’t intend for it to come across that way at all. I just was hoping people would use the information to make a decision to get informed about where “their” money is going.
Looking at it at the local level allows people to see how they might get a benefit from the spending personally.
In any case, spending 1.3 – 1.5 trillion that doesn’t really exist anywhere is not going to be good for our currency’s global value 3-5 years from now.
Posting this was really intended to help people get a little information about what the stimulus package is going towards.
If they want to check out the president’s web site, I’m all for that. I think this administration really is working on transparency in a way that no other president has, and I’m glad for that.
This really was just intended as a “Hey, you may want to know what the money is being spent on.”
Too bad that didn’t come through… thanks for letting me know.

I’m not really following why you think the geographic dispirsment of the $ is that important, given the national/global size of the problem.
Is there something (porkbarreling) you’re suspicious of which you’re not asking out right? Have you looked at the President’s, his team’s website: http://www.recovery.gov for comparison and what I would consider original source data?
(I haven’t, but plan to today or tomorrow) or do you consider it “biased”? Do feel the need for a re-grouping or even filtering of his presentation/data.
Are you suspicious of “transparency”?
This email’s tone feels negative, a little more defensive, even attacking than I mean. But I guess on an emotional level it feels to me like you’re not even giving the President or government a chance to work on the problem.
Maybe, just maybe they can do something about this. Yes, I do think there is historical precedent for this. (FDR)
Just my thoughts (with a little more emotional investment than I really intended)
