In Pictures: 3 Americanisms that are now strange

We’ve been living in countries other than America for over two years.

On boarding Royal Caribbean in Mallorca, Spain, to come back to America, we were immediately tossed in with a large group of Americans, and American standards. These are 3 things we’ve found strange.

Soft bed
“comfortable

The last really comfortable, really soft bed we slept in (for more than one night) was in New Zealand. We’ve been happy to take advantage of the opportunities we’ve had to sleep in so many places all around the world… It’s also nice to sleep in a really super comfortable bed for multiple nights in a row.

Fahrenheit

People have been asking a lot if we know what the temperature will be when we return to Colorado. We say 5-10 degrees, not realizing we’re talking to non-Celsius people.

Outlet
“power

Is this really the place Americans plug stuff in? it looks weird – like some kind of funny face.
