Happy Independence Day 2009: A Poem
For those of you in or from the United States, I hope you enjoy a wonderful day with family and/or friends.
This year, I took a little time to reflect on the holiday and wrote a poem that I wanted to share.

How will you celebrate the 4th?
We’re headed to Cheyenne, Wyoming to spend time with Lynn and Kevin and Krista (who are visiting Cheyenne from Montana). We’re very excited to see them.
P.S. This is the first time I’ve posted something in my handwriting from my tablet. It’s also the first time I’ve shared a poem with the world at large the same day I wrote it.

Jon, that is a beautiful poem! My grandfather served in WWII, my dad served in Vietnam. I hope that You & Carrie have a wonderful 4th of July!!!!!

Although we in South Africa do not celebrate Independence Day, my mother celebrated her 79th birthday today.
